Reading

I have read 7 books so far this month.
I am a reading machine!
Most have been Young Adult (YA) for my reading bingo game I'm playing this year. They include: Shadow & Bone, Siege & Storm, Ask the Passengers, Please Ignore Vera Deitz, Reached, and Wither. I also read a Janet Evanovich that wasn't very good, it was called Big Girl Panties. I almost gave up, but I really hate not finishing a book, its like not finishing a movie. Someone worked very hard to write/create it...the least I can do is spend the time to finish it.
I probably won't be able to sustain this amount of reading once its no longer bitter winter. I'll need to be outside; walking dogs, running, gardening, & being in nature. Also, I really need a job.
For now, I'm gonna keep on reading.

Brownie bites

Today I made brownie bites. I wanted to try out the new pans I got for Christmas! (Thanks Kathy!)
Its SO easy! You just mix up a batch of brownies, spoon it in the mini muffin pan, and bake for 15-20 minutes. As soon as you take them out of the oven, shove a peanut butter cup (unwrapped of course) into each brownie!
I just keep forgetting to unwrap the peanut butter cups before the brownies are done baking!
Delicious!

Day 12 of 365 Project - Oil change with dad

Today, Sunday January 12, I took my car to my dad's to change the oil. It has approximately 84,930 miles. so he will have to change it again in another 3,000 miles. He wore my grandpa's coat & hat and told me a story about his grandfather's roller, as in ground roller, for flattening surfaces, like boccie courts.

Day 12 of 365 Project - dad & the oil

Days 6-12 of 365 Project

This project is getting a little silly. I really need to start leaving my house more often. This week I stayed in a lot! So there are pics of dogs & me & stuff around my house! I hope to get better at taking my camera with me when I do go out.
Day 6 - Gracie Lou

Day 7 - Me & Gracie Lou making silly faces

Day 10 - Sisters.
Day 11 - Dinosaur.

Day 5 of 365 Project - Around my neighborhood

I decided to go for a walk around my neighborhood. Me, three dogs, and my camera...
I took a lot more than one picture. It is the first time I have used my Olympus E-410 DSLR since August. Oh, how I have missed it.

Day 5 of 365 Project image - Dog butts! Lydia, Gracie, & Hugo!

Exploration of the neighborhood 01-05-2014:

The creek that runs behind my house is a tributary to Yellow Creek. Someone has misplaced a soccer ball.

nothing like the majestic winter's snow...and a can of bud light. Go home snow, you're drunk.
apparently, so is this flat santa!

All in a row.

A casualty of the season.

Ours is not the only house on the street with Tibetan Prayer Flags. This house is exceptional in all other things.
My prayer flags, on my front porch.
I hope to continue these little projects, so I can get back into the swing of photography! :) I've missed it!

365 Project

I've decided to do the 365 photo project, where I will take a photo everyday of the year and post it on social media. I am hoping to garner insights into my own life as well as let my friends and family get to know me a little better. I stole the idea from my friend Carlyn, a wonderful person/photographer (find her at http://www.carlynkphotography.com/) She is way more fancy than me, I have so far only used my phone and instagram to take & post my photos. I probably still will for the most part, but every now and then, I will be breaking out my Olympus E-410 DSLR and taking real pics! So stay tuned!
Here are my first 4 photos from the 365 project:

Day 1 of 365 Project - Hugo trying to lick the hair dryer!

Day 2 of 365 Project - I made chili! No meat chili!

Day 3 of 365 Project - What I listened to - record from my dad! Love me some LPs! #motown

Day 4 of 365 Project - While undecorating, I wanted to highlight my 3 new ornaments! Best ornaments in a long time! The TARDIS was handmade by my cousin Hunter! So talented! My mom got me the chicken & eggs ornament, it will hang in my kitchen! Sarah got my the cutest Wall-E & Eva ornament while on her honeymoon in Disney!!  :) Thank you my lovely family & friends for being to thoughtful! #loveyous
